Inspired by the films of Edward Yang and Hou Hsiao-hsien, I began my career in filmmaking after graduating in 2016.
Started as a 2nd AC, then worked mainly as a DP in commercial productions, where speed, precision, and control shaped my on-set experience.
In 2021, during the peak of the pandemic, I was sent to Thailand and Cambodia to shoot a rally documentary. After that, I worked internationally across Southeast Asia, Japan, China, Europe, and Australia.
Despite these experiences, I gradually realized they were not what I was truly searching for.
Returning to the moment I first watched "A Brighter Summer Day", becoming a cinematographer for cinema has always been my ultimate dream.
In 2024, before turning thirty, I entered Tokyo University of the Arts to study cinematography.
After two solid years, my work draws from New Taiwan Cinema and documentary practice. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between actors and the camera, maintaining stable framing while allowing natural light to guide the image.
I now work as a DP, gaffer, and still photographer based in Tokyo, open to all kinds of collaborations.
